Hello! My name is Brian I am a mountain enthusiast and mechanical engineer. I was raised in southern Louisiana and was far more comfortable on the water fishing and boating than walking in the mountains. Once I moved out to LA that changed. My wife and I started hiking the local LA mountains, gaining more confidence, stamina, and endurance with every step. By fall 2021 we had done our first backpacking trip and in spring 2022 I had taken my first mountaineering course and climbed my first alpine peak. I spent the summer of 2022 climbing local crags around the greater LA region, and backpacking the eastern Sierra. My wife and I have been climbing backpacking and splitboarding ever since, and we consider the Easter Sierra our home range.

As an engineer I am always looking to apply my professional craft to any and all aspects of my recreational activities. From doing all of my own MTB repair and maintenance to developing useful and unique solutions to common backcountry sports problems.
